Cinderella stunk at soccer. She was bad at basketball.Though equipment filled her lockershe could hardly play at all.Baseball, football, hockey, tennis;none were Cindrella’s sport. No one feared her speed or menaceon the field or rink or court.Though she spent her evenings training, and on weekends she would drill, practicing without complaining, she could not improve her skill.Though she couldn’t play too well, ahshe was quite beyond reproach. It was just that Cinderellahad a pumpkin for a coach.

I went to school to learn to read, but learned instead of trouts in tweed.I thought they’d show us how to write. They showed a fig could fly a kite.Instead of having history classwe caught gorillas in a glass, then didn’t learn arithmetic, but watched as Tuesday did a trick. We also skipped geographyto learn why eggs can disagree. And then, instead of taking art,we learned to take the air apart.Instead of having science there,we played with pigs with purple hair.We learned to catch a savage chairand why balloons are really square. We learned the moon can eat the sunand why bananas like to run. It’s true, we may get nothing done, but, boy, it sure is lots of fun.

I only want ketchup.It’s all that I like.I don’t need a burger.I don’t need a bike.I don’t want a tuba,a truck or a train,bananas, bandanas,pianos or rain.I’ll pass on canasta,gymnastics and chess.I don’t need a diamonda dog or a dress.I’m fine without fairies,canaries or figs,tomatoes, tornadoes,tortillas and twigs.I’d give up guitarsand carnations and cheese,The sparkling starsand the wind in the trees,I don’t need a hugor an afternoon hike.Juss pass me the ketchup.It’s all that I like.

I sort of have the sniffles. It seems as if I’ll sneeze. It slightly I’m showing signsof some disorder or disease. It could be I’m contagious.Perchance I have a chill. It’s feeling like a fever.I’ve an inkling that I’m ill.I might have mild myalgia.I’m probably in pain.It looks as if I’m latelymore susceptible to strain. The likelihood it’s lethalis maybe minuscule. But why take any chances?I’ll be staying home from school.

The Drinking Fountain

The drinking fountain squirted me.It shot right up my nose.It felt as if I’d stuck my nostrilon the garden hose.It squirted water in my eyeand also in my ear.I’m having trouble seeingand it’s really hard to hear. The water squirted east and west.It squirted north and south.Upon my shirt, my pants, my hair, but nothing in my mouth.I’m sure that soon they’ll fix itbut, until then, let me think…just whom can I convince that they should come and have a drink?

The elephants bounced and propelled up the stairs. The hippos did somersaults over their chairs. The bison were bounding and so were the bears. It was such a spectacular scene. The cows were careening around in the den.The rhinos went right through the ceiling and thenmy mom made me promise that never againwould I buy them a new trampoline.

Jessica Jean

We planted some beans in our garden in class, along with some peppers and pumpkins and grass. We planted them neatly in straight little rows. But Jessica Jean stuck her bean up her nose. She did it discreetly, not making a peep. She pushed with her pinky and poked it in deep, then kept it a secret, so no one would know. But, meanwhile, her bean was beginning to grow.It popped out a leaf on the tiniest stalk, that quickly unfolded and caused her to squawk, then rapidly blossommed and grew to a vine, while Jessica Jean was beginning to whine. It quickly expanded to cover her lips.It grew on her shoulders, her elbows and hips.It bloomed on her body and covered her clothes, completely encasing her down to her toes.It looped on her ankles, engulfing her feet, cocooning her knees and obscuring her seat, concealing her up past the top of her chest, her arms and her hands, and then all of the rest. And that was the last that has ever been seen,or heard of the student named Jessica Jean.So always remember to plant them in rows, and never, don’t ever, put beans in your nose.

Our teacher’s multi-talented.He plays guitar and sings. He paints impressive picturesand can juggle twenty rings. He dances like an expert,he can mambo, tap and waltz. He’s also quite a gymnast, doing airborne somersaults. He’s something of a swimmer. He’s a champion at chess. It’s difficult to find a skillthat he does not possess. He speaks a dozen languages. He’s great at racing cars. He’s masterful at fighting bulls, and studying the stars. He’s good at climbing mountains. He can wrestle with a bear. The only thing we wish he’d learnis how to comb his hair.
